About Puida

Puida Oy (Puida Ltd internationally) [2918901-1] is an active Finnish technology studio building privacy-first communication, developer tools, and robust e-commerce platforms.

Our New Direction

Today, our mission is to build independent software that respects user privacy and empowers creators. Operating as a self-sustaining studio, we focus our engineering efforts on a diverse, active portfolio of web platforms, secure apps, and finnish technology.

Our Flagship Ecosystem

  • Sulle — Our flagship project, launching in late 2026. Sulle is a highly secure, end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) messaging app, currently in private beta.
  • Protocache & Lasti — We operate the e-commerce store Protocache.com, which is completely powered by our proprietary warehouse management backend, Lasti.fi.
  • Puida Tools — Repository of 30+ free browser only utilities for developers, creators and small businesses.
  • Sulje — Our ecosystem is rounded out by our dedicated closed circle customer support and issue tracking platform, Sulje.com.

Our Extended Ecosystem

  • Tapelang — We maintain Tape, a free cross-platform compiler, which we use internally, and inhouse test performance and resiliency with our own x64 hobbykernel - Leivos.
  • Hinguere — We also host the digital home for the Finnish abstract strategy board game, Hinguere.

Our History: The SaaS Era

Puida was originally founded in 2018 as a VC-backed cloud-tech startup. Our initial focus was developing a collaborative work management and file-handling SaaS platform designed for artists and creative teams.

While we haven't entirely given up on that original vision, we ultimately pivoted our business model. We took the deep engineering experience gained from building complex enterprise cloud architecture and channeled it away from the traditional VC growth path, using it instead to build our current, self-funded product lineup. Puida Oy remains the exact same legal entity today—just stronger, fully independent, and developing for the future.
